01

Capable doesn’t always
win the work.

The contractors winning the projects you want aren’t always better at building. They’re better at bidding. That gap is where most ambitious SMEs lose ground — and where we can move the needle.

01The gap

Capable contractors lose to better-presented competitors.

As contractors move into professional and commercial work, the basis of competition shifts. Larger projects are won on credibility, structure, commercial clarity and presentation — not just price. Many capable SMEs lose jobs they could have delivered, simply because the bigger contractor presented better.

What costs the appointment
  • 01Quotes sent without commercial context
  • 02Scope unclear, exclusions buried
  • 03Methodology thin or missing
  • 04Past projects not packaged as proof
  • 05Commercial assumptions not articulated
  • 06Submission looks smaller than the business
  • 07Larger contractor simply presents better
House Position

03Opportunity-Led Proposal Support

Source. Match. Shape.

A short addition to the offer. Bidwright now helps you find the work as well as win it — but only where the fit is honest and the opportunity is real.

ISource

Source the opportunity

We monitor public construction tenders across the south-east — Contracts Finder, Find a Tender and adjacent feeds — for live work that fits your trade, region and contract scale. You can also send us your own.

IIMatch

Match the fit

We score each opportunity on trade overlap, region, deadline, value band and buyer profile. Only the ones that genuinely fit your business move forward — the rest stay out of your inbox.

IIIShape

Shape the proposal

Once you decide to bid, we apply the proposal process to turn the brief into a submission that competes for larger commercial work. The contractor stays in control of the technical truth at every stage.

What We Don’t Do
  • We don’t guarantee opportunities will land. Sourcing surfaces them; winning them is the bid.
  • We don’t act for buyers. We work only for the contractor preparing the submission.
  • We don’t price the work. Pricing stays with the contractor; the proposal communicates it.
  • We don’t describe upstream signals as live tenders unless verified.

04How We Work

From rough opportunity to winning submission.

A four-stage process that takes whatever you have today — a tender email, a few notes, a price — and turns it into the kind of submission that wins larger work. The contractor stays in control of the technical truth at every stage.

I
Step 01 · Source & Brief

We source or you send

Either we surface a tender that fits your trade and region and send it across, or you forward your own — tender email, drawings, scope notes, pricing, background. Either path starts here.

II
Step 02 · Framework

We structure the pack

We extract the key requirements, identify missing information and build the proposal structure around the client's decision criteria.

III
Step 03 · Drafting

We craft the submission

We prepare the written proposal, commercial presentation, methodology, assumptions, case studies and submission checklist.

IV
Step 04 · Approval

You review and submit

You approve the technical truth, pricing and final content before the pack is submitted to the client.

The contractor always approves the final submission

10Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Practical answers about how Bidwright works, what we produce, and what stays in the contractor's control.

01Will Bidwright actually help us win more work?
Bidwright doesn't price the job, build the programme or sit in front of the client — so we can't guarantee any single bid. What we can do is apply the bid process used by the contractors at the top of the market to every submission you put out. Better-structured, more commercially clear, harder to discount. Over a run of bids, that compounds into a stronger win rate and a larger pipeline.
02Is Bidwright a bid writer?
Bidwright provides specialist proposal and submission support for contractors. We structure, write and present the proposal pack, but the contractor remains responsible for pricing, technical accuracy and final approval.
03Do you price the work?
No. The contractor provides the price, scope and technical input. We present that information clearly and professionally.
04Can you work from rough notes?
Yes. Many contractors start with a quote, tender email, drawings and a few notes. We identify what is missing and build the submission from the information available.
05Do you submit the bid for us?
Usually the contractor submits the final pack. We can prepare the submission-ready document and supporting email, but final approval remains with the contractor.
06How quickly can you turn around a proposal?
Simple proposal packs can often be prepared quickly if the pricing and scope are ready. More complex tenders need more time. We confirm turnaround after reviewing the opportunity.
07What kind of contractors do you support?
Ambitious SMEs — specialist subcontractors, small main contractors, fit-out and refurbishment firms, trades and suppliers — bidding on contracts typically £50k to £5m, who are winning work but want to step up into a steadier pipeline of larger, professional and commercial projects.
08We’re moving from domestic / smaller jobs into commercial work. Is that the right fit?
Yes — that's exactly who Bidwright is built for. The shift from residential / smaller projects into commercial and professional work is a step-change in how bids are evaluated. Pricing matters, but credibility, structure, methodology and presentation start carrying the appointment. We bring that sophistication.
09How does no-win, no-fee work?
For selected opportunities, a success fee is agreed before work starts and becomes payable if the contractor is awarded the contract, purchase order, letter of intent or materially similar scope.
10What if we lose?
If the opportunity is accepted on a no-win, no-fee basis and you do not win, no success fee is payable. Fixed-fee work is charged regardless of outcome.
11Can you create reusable bid content?
Yes. We can help build capability statements, case studies, standard methodology sections, H&S/quality summaries and reusable proposal templates.
12What do you need from us?
Project brief, pricing, scope, drawings/specs if available, programme assumptions, technical input, company information, case studies and final approval.
